Putting the bank into an app

When Coutts were launching their latest banking app, they asked Karmarama to find them a UX copywriter who would work with the product owners to make sure it wasn’t too ‘techy’ or ‘banky’. They also wanted a writer who could create a set of TOV guidelines for use with the app.

I joined the team of UX designers, product owners, researchers and stakeholders to help make sure the new new app achieved the level of excellence that Coutts demands. This entailed:

  • Writing clear, engaging microcopy for each screen

  • Developing a set of TOV guidelines for use with the app

  • Helping to establish clear taxonomy and labelling

  • Ensuring consistency in error messaging

  • Ensuring consistency in financial terminology
